Struggling on here in Pilning where, despite an upturn in the weather, temperatures are only reaching low double figures so we are still missing out on the inesct bonanza of you south-eastern sunbathing types. This Dotted Chestnut in the trap was a splendid bonus - only my second for the garden, although they seem to be on the increase around the Bristol area.
Last night's decision to check out the local wetland (outside the square) instead of helping Janette with the allotment (inside it) was a poor one, as she saw a Kingfisher both on the way there and back - I have never seen one in the village - gripped!
