Just a very brief wander through part of TQ1960 this morning. Through the snow I suddenly spied a tiny Scots Pine seedling, all of 8" tall, poking up through the whiteness. It's growing within 30ft of a mature Scots Pine (council planted and therefore uncountable). But I'm having the seedling!!! This is, after 25+ years of wandering Epsom Common, just the SECOND self-sown Scots Pine I've found on site. And the other one died some years back at a height of c5ft. Cool, that puts my total at 262 species.
262 - Scots Pine - seedling on Epsom Common.
