Out early this morning to wander around Whites Hill - successful with some good birds including Common Cicadabird and Pheasant Coucal, both very difficult species for the square. Nailed several plants including the rather lovely Love Flower (
Pseuderanthemum variabile). Frustratingly, saw a swamp wallaby about 50m outside the square, but a few minutes I followed up the roar of a male koala and saw this beast high up in a tree (as yet the tree itself remains unidentified!)
Insects included Plague Soldier Beetle (
Chauliognathus lugubris), Striped Ladybird (
Micraspis frenata) and several butterflies including Orange Ringlet (
Hypocysta adiante) and Australian Painted Lady (
Vanessa kershawi).
