600+ Northern species

Still plodding on in the north, telling myself it's a marathon not a sprint. Despite the rain and wind last night 3 new moths in the trap got me over the 600 mark, just. Disappointed to confirm that my lack of finding Royal Fern, like my only small clump of Primroses earlier in the year was due to  it having been dug up. But on a brighter note, yesterday  I managed my first Comma of the year, having missed any overwintering ones that had survived and a very worn Painted Lady. Having only had ones and twos Four-spotted Chaser in my square before I was well  pleased with at least 20 bombing around during the week. Still awaiting Common Blue and my list of  Bees this year still does not include Honey Bee.
