Its a start

A couple of quick looks around the two squares I will be concentrating on this year has at least made a start to the year.
The two squares are; ST 52 17 Thorne, near Yeovil, Somerset
& SY 46 93 Bridport, Dorset

A slow start but its early days so far. And this weeks photo is of Dicranopalpus ramosus taken at Thorne.

  1. Good start, Pete. By the way, are you aware that there are 2 species of Dicranopalpus, just to complicate things?

    1. I remember reading something about it in British Wildlife (I think) recently. But need to double check.

  2. Excellent! But your Dicranopalpus has the Zorro mask and isn't a silver hunchback, so should be good to count as ramosus!

    1. I've only ever seen that on Scillies, but Bob Dawson turned up a ramosus there last year so things are complicated even out there.
