for Tim - Muscina from Skidmore

As discussed earlier - the females overwinter and the males die off. At least in temperate regions. Presumably this means they may survive further south but he doesn't know.

  1. Thanks Ali, certainly explains why I wasn't seeing any Muscina males. A bit like some Ichneumon wasps, the females overwinter in grass tussocks so it can be quite a good time of year to record them (if you can identify them!).
