A slow start here in Pilning, mainly due to my inability to blog, combined with a very slack approach so far (must get the moth trap out of the garage). Andy Musgrove kindly sorted me out re the blogging side of it and indirectly led to my latest addition, Daddy Longlegs Spider (Pholcus phalangioides). The square is a modified ST55/85 shifted south by c 100m to include the house and garden. Thus avoiding the horrors of 55/84 with inaccessible railway embankment, new Tesco distribution warehouse and other pre-development mayhem on former sheep fields. Andy noted the presence of 3 pubs in the adopted square. Sheer coincidence. One is closed but the others must have some invertebrates.

Highlight so far this year: Golden Plover in weather movement on Jan 18th. 29 birds, 30 vascular plants, 1 moth, 1 spider

61 species
