Weevil in Guernsey

These weevils were abundant in and around some Gorse flowers the other day. Just via an internet search I am presuming they are the Gorse Seed Weevil (Exapion ulicis) as that seems a common species, unless someone can tell me otherwise:

Also, found an orangey rust fungus on Lesser Celandine, but am I right that there are two species on this plant? Back to work today, boo!

  1. Yes that is Exapion ulicis which anyone with a gorse bush in their square should be able to find.

  2. Hmm, wish I had a gorse bush in my square. But looks like a PSL target at work certainly!
