SP5595ish update

Another glorious day, but absolutely no gain for me as I really was stuck at work for the duration. Overnight moth trapping wasn't too productive either with just one addition (big temp swing and very cold, haven't bothered tonight). Additions from yesterday are:

Parornix anglicella added on basis of adults flying around hawthorn hedgerow with no birch, rowan, whitebeam or blackthorn in the vicinity (leafmines will be widely evident in due course). Euscelis incisus, several netted including females so abdominal markings noted.

Willow Flea Beetle Crepidodera aurata

Psylliodes affinis - isn't it?

Small Nettle Weevil Nedyus quadrimaculata

The only thing from today remains unresolved - Amara sp.

  1. Hmm, that willow flea beetle looks suspiciously like something I knocked off a willow yesterday...

  2. Andy, it is pretty safe to call a Crepidodera with differently coloured pronotum and elytra aurata.
Mark, Psylliodes affinis looks right to me. The Amara could be plebeja: if so, it is one of only 2 species with a trident-shaped pro-tibial spur, and the other is rare and coastal.

  3. Thanks Mark. A job for later then!

  4. Thanks Mark, I'll have a look at the Amara some time tomorrow after an inevitable hang-over has subsided (out tonight).
