SP9621-ish. Eaton Bray, Bedfordshire.
So this will be my 1km square for the challenge. The big challenge for me will be spending any time in the field this year but we'll see how it goes.

Highlight so far has been 2 male Goosander on the fishing ponds - my second record for the parish and first in this square. Also 3 Little Owls and a roost of c.500 Starlings on a quick walk at dusk.

I've not done much beetling in this square but I did find Noble Chafer Gnorimus nobilis in the old damson orchard last year so it will be interesting to see what else lives in those trees. I also have my eye on a mole fortress which should be interesting. I've never looked at one before but there are loads of specialist beetles in mole nests and 20 species of flea have been recorded from moles!
